![]() ![]() There’s the standard love triangle and a “rival” Senpai character for Naho at one point, but the manga never lingers for too long on these issues nor does it blow them out of proportion. ![]() Now I’ve seen plenty of straightforward girl-meets boy-type shoujo romances and I can honestly say that Orange is a breath of fresh air. And so, Naho makes it her mission to try and save Kakeru’s life by following her future self’s guidance and helping Kakeru find happiness. ![]() The message, sent by Naho’s future self, tells her that her friend (and crush) Kakeru Naruse will commit suicide within a year’s time. Long Ver.įuture Diary Orange by Takano Ichigo is a slice of life romance manga that revolves around Naho Takamiya, a shy high school girl who receives a message from ten years into the future. Hiroto Suwa (left) invites the new kid (right: Kakeru Naruse) to walk home with them. Suwa is way better.ġ0/10: Go read it, or wait for the anime that’s coming out Summer 2016. ![]() Kakeru is kind of annoying and though I understand that he’s depressed and is the focal point of the story I just didn’t like him very much. Naho and friends are awesome, funny and extremely likable. Here’s my review of the HIT 2012-2015 slice of life shoujo romance manga (and upcoming summer anime) Orange by Takano Ichigo: Naho Takamiya, the protagonist of Orange and the girl I’m nominating for cutest anime girl of the year. ![]()
